Self Confidence for Amanda Knox
Yesterday, Amanda Knox was aquitted of a murder for which she has spent four years in jail. She’s only 24.
Let’s just for a few minutes stop judging if Amanda Knox is guilty or innocent and look to the person behind the story.
She is a human being who has been through a nightmare. The Italian system is rife with corruption, coerced statements, lawyer vendettas, forced confessions, planted evidence and other illegal methods.
DNA evidence was tainted and improperly collected (there are videos showing this,) that alleged evidence on her computer’s hard drive was destroyed by the prosecution, that damaging and contradictory statements she made were obtained during more than 50 continuous hours of questioning without a lawyer and possibly under physical duress, that the prosecutor is currently being investigated for improper actions in other unrelated cases… the list goes on.
What could be worse than spending time in jail for something you did not do? Self confidence vanishes quickly when you truely are a victim.
Self confidence will soar if she was guilty and released.
Either way, instead of ridicule or honor this person needs our conscious support. She is a person in the world finding her way. If she is innocent, she needs healing. If she is guilty, she needs to live among us as a reformed, productive citizen.
Right or wrong, she needs a country full of people lifting her to become the best that she can be.
We can gain some perspective from this case. Here are 5 lessons that are worth a look.
