Self Confidence Booster #2
How I Created One Half of a “Info -Product

What I am learning abut self confidence by creating my first info product to sell on the internet.
This week I am immersed in a kitchen remodel project. I discussed issues with the cabinet supplier, the trucking company, the tile installers, and the owner. I have run jobs for years and quite frankly, I am losing interest. I’d rather be working on my website.
This website that I am building on a part time basis is testing my self confidence but I find this interesting.
This week I discussed issues with a researcher, a traffic generating person, listened to hours of lessons on creating modules, writing bullet points, creating sales letters, reviewing the outline of a course on the right way to ask friends and family for a loan.
I have over 60 pages of research now and just gave the researcher 3 more topics to uncover. To compile this into an informative and compelling content seems, at times, overwhelming for a contractor. Luckily I had developed some project management skills when I was on earth the first time. (joke)
On an on going basis I deal with self confidence issues. One thing I have found that works well is to separate my self confidence into short term and long term self confidence. Because when I look at creating an info-product and realize that I am just developing this skill I feel quite insecure. Can I really do this? I’m looking for answers, for ideas and direction all the time. My SUC’s (subjective units of confidence) level is 3.
But because I know about long term confidence, which is based on who I am rather than on a level of skill, I can relax and keep taking steps on my project. I look at my long term capability to learn and to develop skills, similar to when I learned to build stores and restaurants. My long term SUC’s is 9!
The trick now is to hold that feeling of self assurance in who I am and let it flow into what I do.
I have ways I do this, like EFT and visualization exercises.
I guess the question is “Will this help me build a quality info product?”
I am estimating that this project is 50% complete. I will keep you informed on my progress.
Tip of the week:
How to save $180 on Camtasia video editing software!
I have been wanting to buy the video editing/screen capture software, Camtasia for over a year. It costs $299. I never really had the money to buy it. I checked amazon and guess what? They will sell you the bundle NEW for $118 if you have a edu email address (you need to be a student). So my daughter bought it and I paid for it and it was shipped to me….
Leave a comment and let me know what skill you are trying to build and develop short term confidence on.
